This was a Collaboration that happened between me and Amara Tabor Smith. It never had an official tittle. Darryl Smith had showed Amara the beginning film clips of what would later become “Free Jazz” (the 8mm Brontez Purnell Dance Company movie) and she liked it and asked if i would join her for a collob at the Streetopia festival held at the Luggage Store in front of 6th and Market. (Fun Fact: The Luggage Store is SF’s OLDEST independently run art gallery), alongside an auxillery performance happening the day before at ArtPad SF held at the Phoenix hotel. During the performace i drew three veve’s on the ground in pink chalk, and was tettered to a tree attached by white rope, set white candles and did a solo with a mechete, while Amara’s performance task delt with stillness and very slow movement.
